Processing starts almost immediately so unfortunately, once an order has been placed, it can’t be changed. For the same reason, it’s not usually possible for us to cancel an order once we’ve received it.

If you have changed your mind and would like a refund on your Badaptor order once it’s delivered, simply email our sales team within 30 days.

Each model in the main Badaptor range is designed to be compatible with the full range of Ryobi One+ tools. Depending on the model, you can use a Badaptor to convert a DeWalt 18-20V, Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch Professional, Ridgid or AEG 18V battery for use with the entire range of Ryobi One+ tools.

With the Badaptor Duo, you can convert your 18V DeWalt or Milwaukee battery for use with an 18V Makita tool. This particular model is not designed for use with Ryobi tools.

You should only use a Badaptor to convert your Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Bosch Professional, Ridgid or AEG battery for use with a Ryobi tool.

The Badaptors aren’t designed for charging your existing battery with a Ryobi charger, and it’s not safe to do so.

The Badaptor Duo does have a USB charging port, which lets users charge a phone or another USB device using their DeWalt or Milwaukee battery. Again though, it is not safe or suitable for charging the batteries themselves.

The Bosch Badaptor is designed to work with the range of Bosch Professional and Procore 18V batteries only. Unfortunately, it isn’t compatible with any other sub-brand of Bosch battery.

If you’ve received your Badaptor, and it doesn’t work, don’t worry. All of our Badaptors are covered against faulty manufacture. Let our sales team know within 30 days of receipt, and you can then send it back to us for a refund or replacement.

When sending a Badaptor back to us, please be aware that we’re unable to accept any responsibility for any further damage or loss that may occur in transit. For this reason, please make sure it is properly packed before sending it back to us.

If you change your mind, you can return your Badaptor to us in its original, unused condition within 30 days for a full refund. Just email our sales team before returning your item, so they can start the process.

When sending a Badaptor back to us, please be aware that we’re unable to accept responsibility for any further damage or loss that may occur in transit. For this reason, please make sure it is properly packed before sending it back to us.

If the returned item is found to be damaged or requires repackaging, these costs will be deducted from any refund.

If you take delivery of your order and find that it’s been damaged in transit, or that part of your order is missing, let us know as soon as possible (no later than 2 working days after receipt).

Once you’ve notified our sales team, damaged Badaptors can be returned to us within 30 calendar days for a refund or exchange.

If anything is missing from your order, or it hasn’t been delivered, let us know within 14 days of your invoice date, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

If you are ordering a Badaptor from outside the UK, you may incur a charge for importing an item from abroad. We are not liable for any costs incurred, and it is your responsibility to pay these charges.

Most tools and many types of battery contain protection to stop the batteries discharging below the point where they can no longer be recharged.

It is this protection that simply stops the tool when the battery needs recharging. Tool/battery combinations without protection just get slower and slower as the battery voltage drops.

However, as tools and batteries are changing all the time, we are aware of some combinations where neither the tool nor battery has deep discharge (also known as over-discharge) protection. In these cases, if the tool continues to be operated as it starts to slow down considerably, it’s possible to drain the battery to a point where it could not be recharged again.

It is good practice to recharge Lithium-Ion batteries before they get too low as this puts less strain on the battery and tool and will extend the life of both.

So, as long as the user exercises good judgement, the Badaptors are safe and convenient to use. 

No, the Badaptor does not allow you to do this and will not allow charging to take place.

A combination of charge cycles and elevated temperatures will gradually decrease the performance of lithium-ion batteries over time. Typically manufacturers claim 300-500 discharge / charge cycles as the battery life. But this can be affected by heavy use that draws high current, deep drain and temperature conditions.

It is reasonable to expect batteries to provide 100% capacity during the first 12 months service.

Discharging and charging puts a strain on the battery and deeply discharged batteries are strained more during recharging. Heavy current loads and the associated fast discharging also strain the battery. Lithium-ion batteries will last longer if they are charged when only partially discharged, rather than allowing it to fully discharge before recharging. The sweet spot for recharging is around 50%

Manufacturers recommend storage at 15°C with a 40-50% charge to maximise battery life.

When looking at battery storage, two things need to be considered.

Storing batteries fully charged at high temperatures above 30°C can potentially damage the battery.

Storing batteries with a very low charge means they will self-discharge below the critical minimum voltage sooner and then be impossible to recharge.

Optimum usage temperature is 15-20°C, cycle life is reduced by 20% at 40°C.

Lithium-ion batteries are stressed more when kept above 30°C. Storing batteries fully charged in high elevated temperatures can reduce battery life quicker than normal discharge / re-charge cycling.

Low temperatures reduce the battery capacity as the internal resistance is increased. A temperature of -18°C would reduce the battery capacity to 50%

Continued use of batteries in both high and low ambient temperature environments will accelerate their capacity decay.

There is no in-built cut-off system in the Badaptor – it’s simply a battery adapter that allows users to convert their DeWalt 18-20V, Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch Professional, Ridgid or AEG 18V battery for use with the full range of Ryobi One+ power tools.

When using Lithium-Ion batteries, they should never be drained completely as this can cause damage and prevent them from working. With an 18/20V system, the batteries should not be discharged below 14V.

With most tools, when the battery voltage drops to around 16V, the tool’s speed and performance starts to fall off. At 15-14V the drop in performance is severe and it is obvious that the battery needs recharging.

We would recommend the batteries are recharged when the performance starts to fall off as this will extend battery life, protect the battery from deep discharge (also known as over-discharge), and also maximise tool life as it is working at the correct voltage.

Earlier Ryobi batteries did not contain over-discharge protection as Ryobi fitted this within their tools. The newer One+ Ryobi batteries do contain over-discharge protection.

Ryobi continued to fit over-discharge protection in their tools to support backward compatibility with the older Ryobi battery system. However, we have recently been made aware that new tools, such as the Ryobi garden tools, no longer have over-discharge protection fitted.

Currently, some brands of batteries do contain over-discharge protection, and some do not. Batteries or tools that do contain over-discharge protection will switch off completely before the tool slows down too much. A battery and tool combination without protection will continue to operate at an increasingly slow speed.

To protect your battery, do not continue to operate if the tool performance has noticeably reduced.

Lithium-ion batteries should not be discharged below a certain voltage. Doing so will mean they cannot be re-charged with a normal charger. Some manufacturers’ batteries have circuits in them to prevent over discharging, and other manufacturers put circuits in their tools to prevent over discharge.

The main problem occurs when batteries are stored at low levels of charge and/or low temperatures. The charge decays over time putting the battery voltage below the point at which it can be recharged.
