Here at Badaptor, we believe in listening to our customers and providing as much feedback as possible. We check comments, questions, and feedback across all of our platforms – and we noticed a few questions that kept cropping up again and again. So here are the definitive answers to your most-asked questions.
The short answer is, unfortunately, no. Badaptors are designed to convert your current 18V battery from one of six market-leading manufacturers, to work with the entire range of 18V Ryobi One+ tools. Badaptors aren’t designed to be used in chargers.
If you plug the Badaptor and battery into a Ryobi charger, nothing will happen. Each manufacturers’ charging systems are different and are not interchangeable.
At Badaptor, we are always looking to the future.
We read and try to respond to every message and comment we get with suggestions for new Badaptors that you would like to see added to the range. In due course, we will be adding to the range with new models. So why not follow us on our social media channels to keep up to date with all new releases and information?
Can I use my higher voltage battery on the Badaptor?
You should only use Badaptors with the battery/tool combinations that we’ve listed. Even though some of the fittings for higher voltage batteries may be the same, the Badaptor is only tested for 18V-20V batteries.
Any higher voltages could lead to damage to the tool and/or battery. This could include potential fire and explosive hazards, presenting a danger to the user.
There is no in-built cut-off system in the Badaptor to stop batteries from being over-discharged. A system like this would add extra cost to the Badaptor, as well as extra bulk. The Badaptor is designed so that it does not add any unnecessary weight to the tool.
Many of Ryobi’s newer tools do contain an automatic shut-off system to stop batteries over-discharging. However, some of their newer garden tools do not have this protection.
We recommend charging your batteries when you start to notice a drop-off in performance. This will not only extend the life of your battery but also protect the battery from deep discharge.
So if you’re looking to get more out of your current 18V battery, consider buying a Badaptor. A Badaptor will convert your current 18V battery from DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch Professional, Ridgid, or AEG to work with the entire range of Ryobi One+ tools.
