With late summer drawing in, there are still plenty of gardening jobs to do. Follow these tips in August to keep your garden looking good into early Autumn.
Apart from watering regularly, deadheading faded blooms and cutting back plants is an essential part of maintaining your garden during summer. It’ll keep your garden looking smart, and can also prompt many of your plants to flower again in Autumn.
Hedges can be given a final trim too, before they become dormant. Ryobi has a number of hedge trimmers in its One+ range which can help you do the job quickly and easily – with no power leads to get in the way.
Tree branches can become diseased, damaged or drop for different reasons. Use a chainsaw like the Ryobi One+ cordless brushless 30cm chainsaw to dispose of any fallen branches in your garden, or carefully trim diseased or damaged limbs. It can also come in handy for chopping firewood! With tool-less chain tensioning for easy adjustments, it has an electrical and mechanical chain break for safety, too.
Remember, Winter is generally the best time to prune trees or cut any healthy, overgrown branches back. Ryobi also has a choice of a pole pruner and pruning saw, plus a selection of loppers in its One+ range that can help.
Keep hard surfaces free of waste like dead leaves and soil, which can look messy and harbour pests too.
Late summer is the perfect time to clear up and dispose of any mess, before using a patio cleaner from Ryobi’s One+ range to give your decking, patio or paving a good clean before the onset of Autumn.
The Ryobi One+ cordless debris sweeper is a also a great tool for keeping pathways and hard surfaces clear all year round.
If you don’t have a Ryobi One+ battery, there’s good news – you can still use all of the tools mentioned for your summer gardening jobs.
With a Badaptor battery adaptor, you can convert a DeWalt 18-20V, Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch Professional, Ridgid or AEG 18V battery for use with the entire range of Ryobi One+ 18V tools.
